Guided by the theme “Our Ocean, Our Heritage, Our Future”, OOC11 will highlight the profound connection between the ocean, culture, and livelihoods, particularly across Africa’s coastal and island states.

Building on a decade of progress — 2,900 commitments worth over US$169 billion worldwide — OOC11 will reinforce the Our Ocean Conference as a delivery platform, strengthening transparency and accountability through a new Commitments Tracker.

Kenya’s Vision for OOC11

Kenya will use this moment to:

  • Engage the private sector and deliver investment in the sustainable blue economy
  • Empower and elevate young ocean leaders
  • Catalyze ocean finance
  • Combat illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUU) through regional collaboration
  • Advance marine conservation and restoration efforts that deliver on both climate and 30x30 goals.
